1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the LegalForge website and service (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses or uses the Service in any way.

2. Description of Service

LegalForge is an AI-powered legal document generation platform. The Service allows users to create customized privacy policies, terms of service, and other legal documents by answering a guided questionnaire or by providing a website URL for automated scanning. Documents are generated using large language models and are intended to serve as a practical starting point for your legal compliance needs.

Important: Documents generated by LegalForge are produced by AI for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice. LegalForge is not a law firm and does not provide legal representation. You should consult a qualified attorney before relying on any generated document for legal purposes.

3. User Accounts

Certain features of the Service require you to create an account. When you create an account:

• You must provide accurate and complete information and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must not share your account with any other person. Each account is for use by a single individual only.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you.
• You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.

4. Free and Pro Plans

LegalForge is available on two tiers:

• Free plan. Available to anyone without requiring a paid subscription. Free plan users can generate a basic privacy policy via the questionnaire, copy the result as plain text, and benefit from GDPR and CCPA coverage. No account is required to use the free generator.
• Pro plan. Unlocks AI-powered URL scanning, Terms of Service generation, a compliance dashboard, auto-update alerts, PDF and HTML export, hosted policy pages, and coverage for up to 5 websites. Pro is a paid subscription billed monthly or annually through Paddle. All subscription fees are stated at the time of purchase and are subject to change with notice.

We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue any features on either plan at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable. Significant changes to the Pro plan will be communicated to subscribers before taking effect.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

LegalForge uses artificial intelligence, specifically Google's Gemini models, to generate document content based on your inputs. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Generated documents are produced by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or content that is not appropriate for your specific situation or jurisdiction.
• AI-generated documents are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice, legal opinions, or a lawyer-client relationship of any kind.
• You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and customizing any generated document before using it in a legal or business context.
• LegalForge makes no warranty that any generated document will satisfy applicable legal requirements or that it will be fit for any particular purpose.

6. Intellectual Property

The LegalForge platform — including its software, website design, branding, trademarks, underlying AI prompts and logic, and all other technology — is owned by LegalForge and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the platform itself without our express written permission.

Documents that you generate using the Service are yours. You retain full ownership of any privacy policy, terms of service, or other document output that you create through LegalForge. We grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use those documents for any lawful purpose.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Generate documents intended to deceive, defraud, or mislead users or regulators.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data or content from the Service using automated means without our prior written consent.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our underlying infrastructure.
• Use the Service in a manner that places an unreasonable or disproportionate load on our infrastructure, including automated bulk generation.
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or generated outputs as a competing product without prior written agreement with us.
• Upload or transmit any malware, viruses, or other malicious code through the Service.

Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account suspension or termination and, where applicable, legal action.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
• LegalForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
• LegalForge shall not be liable for any legal outcomes, regulatory enforcement actions, fines, penalties, or disputes arising from your use of AI-generated documents. You are solely responsible for the legal adequacy of any document you use.
• In no event shall LegalForge's total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate the relationship under these Terms at any time.

• You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings. For Pro subscribers, termination will take effect at the end of the current billing period and you will not be charged further.
• We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive activity, or if required by law.
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Your stored data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the Service at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after that date constitutes your agreement to the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account before the effective date.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which LegalForge operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that jurisdiction.
